Information:Strathalbyn is a pretty, old town south of Adelaide - although, there has been a lot of recent development. Sitting at the edge of the hills just before the plains leading through the Langhorne Creek wine region, the town saw a little bit of mining which quickly petered out (although, a new mine has opened up in the last few years), and then became a major agricultural town. It has some nice old buildings, and a rather spectacular reserve in the centre with a river running through it. There are also a lot of bakeries - which is just great if you're looking for a pastie or a pie. |
