Information:The Christmas Pageant in Adelaide is huge - in recent years, crowds of over 400,000 people have lined the city streets to watch the parade (compare with a state population of 1.6 million). The 2009 pageant suffered from a reduced attendance, mostly due to the scorching heatwave that made conditions for parade watches and participants rather uncomfortable. Thankfully, free bottled water was available for all-comers, and the parade continued as planned. |
